A New Way For A New World

Technology has finally cracked the glass barriers constricting education. Post Covid, there are new ways of approaching learning. Our tutor centre provides a fresh, alternative approach and a more personal tutor-learner relationship. Technology has ceased to be experimental; it has become a critical element in learning and experiencing for all of us, including our children.

Knowledge and facts are at our fingertips. What should we do with this avalanche of fascinating knowledge? How should our children interact with it? We encourage young minds to achieve their goals and dreams by learning to assess, interpret and manipulate information. Different ways of learning stimulate this generation of children.

Technology will never replace live tutors; human beings are social creatures, children and teens need interaction with their peers. The ideal solution is to combine the human element with the advantages technology can offer.

Offering both American GED & CAPS curricula

Choose between the American General Educational Development (GED) or the South African Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) programmes to give your child the best chance at success – no matter where life takes them.

Swordfish Academy is the best school by far. My son started there in Grade 8. He suffered from depression and anxiety and I felt that a small cottage school would be the best for him but I never expected that I would be so lucky as to find the hidden gem that is Swordfish Academy. They have been kind and nurturing yet firm and fair. The staff from the cleaning lady to the principal and all those in between are so caring and hard working and constantly put in extra effort to help the children succeed. My son is finishing there this year as it is his final year and it has truly been his best schooling experience. He is now a confident and hard working young man that knows his strengths and weaknesses and knows how to work with them. I can only thank Swordfish Academy for this as they have been phenomenal.

My son went to 4 schools before we found Swordfish Academy. I was looking for a school that would value the whole child and that’s exactly what I found! The support from the staff, specifically the principal, has been invaluable. She has even phoned me on Sundays to chat about problems I didn’t know how to deal with. She always thinks outside the box and comes up with a solution that fits his personality type. No school has ever done that for us. Her true love for education really shines through in her very thoughtful advice and methodology. For the first time my child is happy to go to school.
